WHAT IS HONG KONG 97?
**Hong Kong 97** is an unlicensed, politically incorrect, and bizarre shooting game released on floppy disk for the Super Famicom in 1995. It was created by Japanese game journalist Kowloon Kurosawa in just a few days as a satire of the game industry.
The Story: *Engrish* Edition
"The year 1997 has arrived. A herd of fuckin' ugly reds. are rushing from the mainland. Crime rate skyrockeded! Hongkong is ruined! Therefore, the Hongkong government called Bruce Lee's relative "Chin" for the massacre of the Reds. Chin is a killer machine. Wipe out all 1.2 billion of the red communists!"
The Infamy:
- **The Music:** The BGM is a short, 6-second, infinitely looping clip of the Chinese children's song "I Love Beijing Tiananmen." It never stops.
- **The Graphics:** All characters (including Jackie Chan's face as the protagonist "Chin") and backgrounds are low-resolution, jarring photographs ripped from the internet and other sources.
- **The Final Boss:** A floating, disembodied head of the resurrected **Tong Shau Ping** (Deng Xiaoping).
- **The Game Over Screen:** A highly graphic and disturbing real photograph of a corpse. **(Content warning: We will not display the image on this site!)**
**You are Visitor No. 47683 to the HK97 Shrine since 1997.**
